Braque: a modern painter Georges Braque was never attracted to Classical art. Very early on, he sought out the influence of talented painters such as Matisse and Othon Friesz, who introduced him to Impressionism and Fauvism. But it was thanks to Cézanne, in 1907, that Braque's artistic personality really blossomed. Braque fully embraced his artistic choices when he adopted Cubism, and worked with Picasso so that he could examine his paintings side-by-side with those of the master. This exhibition, which features a retrospective of the artist's work, explores Braque's artistic career in nine stages.
