Buried treasures resurface To celebrate the opening of a new room in the museum, director Victoria Dickenson combed the building's basement from top to bottom in search of long-forgotten treasures. This unlikely approach unearthed archived items that had fallen into obscurity. Pieces of the nation's history spring from the pages of exceptional documents like General James Wolfe's diary from 1759 and Louis Riel's will, on display alongside more personal memoirs like John Samuel McCord's garden plans. These unofficially archived papers provide an intimate context for the inauguration of the new exhibition area.
