A promising artist Having made a name for himself in Quebec over the last 10 years or so, François Lacasse, regarded as one of the most gifted artists of his generation, will almost certainly see his fame spread well beyond the borders of Canada in the very near future. But for the time being, the painter is busy staging his first solo exhibition, featuring about 30 of his works, a show that constitutes a kind of pause for taking stock of his achievements to date. As expressive vehicles, Lacasse's acrylic paintings show that the young artist has come to the end of the first phase in his development. This is an interesting opportunity to review his experiments and achievements over the past 10 years.
