An exceptional retrospective of Baroque art Many have admired his frescoes in the dome of Sant' Andrea della Valle in Rome and in the chapel of San Gennaro in Naples. The 17th century painter Giovanni Lanfranco is acknowledged as the leading exponent of Romanesque Baroque art. He was associated with the Carraccis in Parma and then in Rome, and also worked in Naples. This retrospective of his life revisits the town of Terenzo, where he was born, and covers the period up to his arrival in Rome, where he spent more than 20 years.
