Inspired by sun-worshippers Hergé, author of the famous Adventures of Tintin, loved to wander through the Cinquantenaire museum, located no more than a stone's throw from his home, to admire the cultural masterpieces on display. He was particularly fascinated by the artistic wealth left behind by the Incas, and decided to pay his own special tribute. In The Seven Crystal Balls and The Sun Temple, Hergé displayed his understanding of a very different culture and his profound respect for its traditions. This exhibition brings alive the encounter between a comic strip genius and these archaeological treasures.
