Two exhibitions are being presented simultaneously in the city's museum of contemporary art, in honour of two women with two different visions of modern art, as seen from their common vantage point of Montreal. Lyne Lapointe combines drawing, collage and painting in a variety of ways to illustrate her favourite themes, which merge and re-emerge, from history to mythology, and astronomy to zoology. Janet Cardiff, who is already well-known from America to Europe, prefers creating installations with sound effects.
