It is almost exactly 50 years since Johan and Pirlouit were brought to life by the skilled hand of the cartoonist Peyo. These two heroes livened up the pages of Spirou's comic book adventures. Not long after their debut, they were joined by new characters. Little blue men, better known as Smurfs, invaded the imaginary world that Peyo had created for Johan and Pirlouit, before going off to star in their own story.
