The East India Company was founded four hundred years ago. It became famous throughout Holland while it served trade with other countries. To commemorate the anniversary of its founding, historic sites in Holland have been mobilized to bring together a collection of pieces that will remind the public of the impressive magnitude of the company. The museum of history has devoted special attention to the relations that were built between the Dutch capital and the Indies by means of an array of objects, drawings and paintings that illustrate this glorious period of the country's history.
