Gauguin in America. New Yorkers are fond of Paul Gauguin. Very fond. Yet this is the first exhibition devoted to his works to appear in this city in 40 years. In order to do justice to such an event, the museum has brought together 120 of his works from both public and private collections. Each important stage of his life will be covered through paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints. From the Metropolitan Museum's first acquisition of one of his pieces in 1921 until the present day, the people of New York have shown their deep admiration for his talents, and they are demonstrating it once again.
