The Golden Age of European art. The Danish Ordrupgaard collection brings together some of the most prestigious works of art. Names like Gauguin, Monet, Pissaro and Sisley are mixed in with those of the most important Danish artists. In all, more than 80 extraordinary paintings make up the exceptional Wilhelm Hansen collection, which was donated to the Danish government after the death of Wilhelm's wife Henny. The Met is giving European art a place of honor with this exhibition, particularly with the pieces from France and Denmark. This alliance is both unique and prestigious
