As far back as he can remember, Bernard Granier always wanted to work in the hotel business, his true calling. This graduate from hotel schools in Toulouse and Lausanne is not one to conceal his marked love of travel. Following a 3-year stint in Hotel Le Méridien in Dakar, he flew to the Caribbean and then the Middle East where, aged only 32, he got his first General Manager appointment. One last expatriation in Asia helped him fine-tune his knowledge of the hotel business, particularly regarding quality standards, and left him with indelible memories. Such a profusion of services in that part of the world, whose culture and history, so rich and so different, fascinate him greatly.

From 1995 to 2003, he was master and commander at Porte Maillot, successively heading, and for the first time, the Hotel Concorde La Fayette as General Manager for 2 years, before joining the Hotel Méridien Etoile simultaneously as General Manager and Regional Director for both of the brand’s Paris hotels until 2003. Having led the latter establishment’s renovation and restructuring works to completion, he joined Mövenpick Group as Senior Vice-President for Europe and Africa, a position he has held to this day.

Bernard Granier has now returned to Concorde Hotels & Resorts where, having been at first Regional Director for the Group’s Paris hotels, he dons the mantle of Group CEO since October 2008.
