Marseille Provence 2013 From 01 January 2013 to 31 December 2013
The City of Marseille has been named European Capital of Culture 2013. Its cultural ambition, its drive and cosmopolitan spirit have designated it among eight other candidates. Throughout that outstanding year, Marseille will be organising a programme of exceptional cultural events, exhibitions, shows, workshops, street parties, etc. The programming, centred around the four seasons, will highlight certain leading events such as the Euromediterranean Workshops, two new festivals (InterMed and Via Marseille), the International Circus Arts Biennial, the new Sacred Music Festival and theme trails being set up in the area.
