Formula One - Spanish Grand Prix Home to the Spanish Grand Prix, the Circuit de Catalunya provides both drivers and spectators with one of the most exciting races in the tournament. A city full of energy and enthusiasm, Barcelona creates an invigorating atmosphere for the 4th event in the Grand Prix. Due to good weather throughout the year, the Circuit de Catalunya is used by many of the Formula One teams as a test track, but this does not lessen the challenge, or the excitement of the race. The Circuit de Catalunya is located only 30km from Barcelona. It is easily accessible on major routes, either the N152 or the A7 motorway (exit 13) towards Gerona.
Barcelona Guitar Festival Barcelona's annual Guitar Festival features a program of concerts, taking place at many venues throughout the city, from March until June. The festival is renowned for the quality of the concerts and performers, gaining a superb reputation over the last few years. The interesting mix of architecture and culture, culinary and artistic styles on offer in Barcelona, compliment and create a wonderful atmosphere in which to experience a fun and exciting mix of musical styles, ranging from classical to flamenco, blues & jazz to electric. Catalonian Moto Grand Prix The Catalonian Moto Grand Prix is one of the most popular rounds of the World Championship. As one of the fastest, most thrilling sports in the world, the Moto GP, the lively city of Barcelona serves as a good host for this event, attracting many visitors, both holidaymakers and race fans alike. Like the Formula One Grand Prix, the race is held at the Circuit de Catalunya, which is located only 30km from Barcelona. Salon Del Automovil (International Motor Show) Barcelona's International Motor Show is one of the five leading motor shows in the world. It is the most important motor event in Spain, both in the number of visitors and the number of participating brands. In 2006, more than 200 participants and over 1 million visitors, both Spanish and international, were present. Leading industry brands will be present, demonstrating the most recent vehicle releases and the latest trends for automobiles. An exciting event with great appeal that has grown consistently year after year, the International Motor Show in Barcelona has become a landmark event, drawing motor enthusiasts from around the world.
31st Barcelona Summer Festival June to August 2007 (tbc) Popularly known as the "Grec Festival", the Barcelona Summer Festival presents a varied program of theatre, dance and music events. Since the first festival, in 1976, some of the most famous names in the artistic arena have performed, promoting the festival to the most important cultural event of the season. Every year, Barcelona sets an interesting and exciting backdrop for these performances. Shows from various international companies will take part in this 31st festival to present a fabulous spectacle with a strong focus on contemporary culture. | |
