THE CAFE TERMINUS: With a 1900’s decor by Sonia Rykiel, the Café Terminus offers lovers of fine foods the chance to enjoy dishes which are sophisticated, creative, original, and made mostly with locally grown produce. At lunchtime there are generous portions of traditional fare, served in a friendly, youthful and dynamic atmosphere. DATE OF CONSTRUCTION: The Hotel Concorde Saint-Lazare, known at the time as « Grand Hôtel Terminus », was built in 1889 by the Compagnie des Chemins de fer de l’Ouest to accommodate visitors to the Great Exhibition. DECOR: Behind the rather sober facade we find a decor of pink marble, paintings, and Lameire sculptures. SITUATION: The hotel is situated opposite the Gare Saint-Lazare, a few minutes’ walk from the large stores on the Boulevard Haussmann, from the Madeleine and the Opéra, and 7 minutes from “La Défense” by train.
