Paris Marathon

Sunday, April 7 2013

Legendary race through the streets of Paris.

It was back in 1896 that the Paris Marathon was held for the first time, with 191 participants who started from the Porte Maillot.
After a period of absence, the marathon was re-established in 1976 as a large scale endurance test held in the streets of Paris, open to specialists and amateurs alike.

The course is 42.195 kilometres long, starting on the Champs-Elysées and finishing on Avenue Foch, running through Bastille, Nation, and the woods of Vincennes and Boulogne.

Considered one of the world's greatest marathons, the event will see over 37 000 competitors, not to mention many thousands of spectators along the route cheering the runners on. Come and soak up the atmosphere and lend your support!
