There were already elegant hotels in Paris, built during the Restoration and consisting of apartments reserved for a royal clientele. Here the guests expected both elegant and peaceful surroundings. THE « GOLDEN BLACK » BAR: Just off the foyer, the Golden Black Bar which has undergone extensive renovations, now boasts new furniture as well as original decorations inspired by the Great Exhibition of 1889 and by Africa of the 1920’s. Inviting you to experience a world of simple and delicate shapes, the furniture bears the signature Citrus Mobilier. In the pictures painted by the artist Valérie CALVI, objects, photos, statuettes and ceremonial African dress mingle, in a harmony of tones and styles, with the Paris of the last century.
