The famous Parc de la Tete d’Or (Golden Head Park) in Lyon is the largest city park in France and is just behind this 4-star hotel. The park gets its name from an old legend which describes a very unique treasure which is buried there, a golden head representing Jesus Christ. You can get there easily from the hotel by crossing the entrance to the square of the Cite Internationale.

The Parc de la Tete d’Or (Golden Head Park) is a genuine natural paradise and is divided into several sections. The Roseraie of the Parc de la Tete d’Or (Golden Head Park) holds a contest every year where a team of judges chooses from among the rose creators, to award the Prize for The Most Beautiful Rose in France and the Grande Rose du Siecle (Rose Of The Century). The new Roseraie, inaugurated in 1964, includes more than 60,000 rose bushes representing the 320 of the most popular varieties of roses in the world.
