The Ambasciatori Palace Hotel is situated on the famous Via Vittorio Veneto. Close to many of Rome's most famous sights, including the Borghese Gardens, the Pantheon, the Colosseum, the Piazza Navona, St Peter's Basilica and the Piazza del Popolo. Just to the west of the hotel are the famous Spanish Steps, which lead up from the Via Sistina to the church of Trinità dei Monti. In the square below is the Fontana del Tritone, a celebrated marble fountain designed by Bernini.

Villa Borghese

The Villa Borghese, a few minutes north of the Ambasciatori Palace Hotel, is a splendid villa surrounded by an extensive and beautiful park. Inside you can see a fabulous collection of sculptures by Bernini as well as of baroque and neoclassical works of art by other famous artists. The surrounding parkland features Italian gardens, lakes and trees, making it an oasis of green in the heart of Rome.


Pantheon (Temple of all Gods)

One of Rome's foremost tourist attractions, this architectural gem was built in 27BC and features the largest masonry vault ever constructed. Raphael and Caracci are among the famous people buried here.


Piazza Navona

Among the many beautiful square in Rome's city centre, Piazza Navona is one not to be missed. In addition to the important architecture, the square boasts many lively cafés and ice cream parlours make it a popular meeting place for the locals.


Vatican Museums

Home to the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo's Last Judgement, the museum also displays an impressive collection of art collected and commissioned by Popes down through the centuries. The Pope's principle church, St Peter's Basilica sits majestically in St Peter's square and is where most of the papal ceremonies are held.


Colosseum

An icon among Rome's many historical monuments, the Colosseum is one of the greatest remaining examples of Roman architecture. Visitors can tour the remains of this ancient amphitheatre but it is advisable to book tickets in advance.
